Blood Work

When my husband and I finally felt like we were ready to have a baby, we made an appointment to see my OBGYN. She said since we have been trying for 4 years with no luck, she suggested me try fertility treatment. Before fertility treatment, she wanted me to get blood work done and she also wanted my husband to give a sperm sample.

I went to my nearest LabCorp and gave them my paperwork. The phlebotomists took my paper and scanned the barcode that was on the paper. She was in shock. She said she has never seen so many request for different things. There were only 2 phlebotomists that was working and one of them was also the receptionist. It was clear that they were short staffed.

I was beginning to feel light headed. I asked if they had something for me to drink, but it was also clear that she wanted me out so she can tend to the next person so she said she didn’t have anything.

I was sitting outside debating when I should call an Uber to bring me to work. I decided to call my husband first. I told him how much blood they took and even texted him this picture. He asked how I was feeling. I told him I felt lightheaded.

Even though I had a negative experience at the lab, I got amazing results in return.

I have a high level of an anti-mullerian hormone, which means I have a ton of eggs left in my ovaries.

My egg quality is top notch.

Also, my husband’s sperm is also good!

I have days when I feel down, but I’m hopeful.
