Special Delivery! Let’s do an unboxing..

Progesterone Shots.jpg

I got a package today. FedEx shipped a package over night from a specialty pharmacy in Palo Alto. Just a little tip for our future couples who will be going through IVF. Ordering through a specialty pharmacy rather than your normal pharmacy is a lot cheaper. They always have “coupons” that will automatically be applied to your order. I have never seen these coupons, but my totals are always lower than expected, which made me question the total. The pharmacist said that always have these digital coupons coming from the manufacturer.

Well the package I got was my progesterone medication and all the needles and syringes. This time I only have to give myself 1 shot rather than the 3 or 4 I was giving myself before my egg retrieval. Instead of shooting myself in the stomach, my husband would have to inject me on my ass. I wouldn’t be able to do it myself.

When the nurse was giving him the instructions, I can tell he was about to faint. He works in the medical field, but he said this time was a little different. His reaction is making me a lot nervous. I usually have a high tolerance of pain. Not really scared of anything. For example, I had to take this cancer shot called methotrexate to shrink my cell tissues, the needle they used was so long, I didn’t even flinch, but my husband was the back not trying to watch. Also, I had sliced my thumb so bad that I thought it was going to fall off. I posted the doctor sewing it back on, on my IG story. Call me weird, but shit like that doesn’t bother me. So anyone who wants to fill my husbands position and help give me the shots everyday, let me know! You’ll get to see a pretty big ass. Lol! Not sure if that’s a good thing.

I have to wait until my December menses to arrive before I start all my oral medications and the injections. So right now it’s a waiting game. I’ve waited so long for this, so what’s a couple more weeks? I hope by this time next year, I get to buy Christmas presents for our little baby Mac.

Before I end this blog, I wanted to clarify a few things I’ve written in my egg transfer blog. I think it was a bit confusing for a lot of people. I’ve gotten congrats messages in my DM’s and also comments on my pictures. The egg transfer appointment was not an appointment for the physical egg transfer. It was more of a consultation to everything that was going to happen. It was also a way for the hospital to tell us that we still need to pay for the second half, which was a bummer because we thought the amount we paid for the first time covered the whole thing. Oh well. We’re coming so close to the finish line that hopefully this will be our last IVF payment.
