Who's In It With Me?
I guess my girl didn’t want me to take a “before” picture without her.
I have posted something on my @mywishingpeanut Instagram on January 27th. I made a goal with myself that I would lose weight by February 15th. Well that didn’t happen. It was a complete fail. I actually gained 3 pounds which was a really big disappointment. I felt like I failed. I felt like I should delete my Instagram. I felt like I should end this blog. Then I realized I’m fucken human! Humans make mistakes. My girl Aaliyah (RIP beautiful) once sang, “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again. You can dust yourself off and try again, try again.”
I think to be successful in whatever you do, you need to surround yourself with positive people who want to see you succeed. Your support system will help you keep going, help you stay motivated. That’s what I did. I decided to change my life to where I chose to live a positive life. I’m not going to dwell on things that I can not change. I can not change negative people, so I chose to stay civil, but not let them in.
March 1st, 2019, my husband and I decided to help each other by living a healthy life. While he was at work today, I threw away all our snacks, ice cream, and other things that will not benefit our health. When he came home, he thanked me for eliminating all of our processed junk because he had a craving! If it’s not in the house, there’s nothing we can do, but to eat healthy!
I have two really close girlfriends at work. They live a healthy life. They are not overweight like me. I told them I decided to make a life change. They have jumped on the healthy journey with me and I consider them as my support system at work. We are eating healthier, drinking more water, and walking 7 flights of stairs during our break. They are some positive gals and I’m blessed to have met them!
I’m not going to be hard on myself. I want to keep this fun. I made a list on a post it note on how I can help myself stay on track. Here are a few things that can help me stay on track.
When I feel like snacking, I have to write in my journal, why I’m hungry, if it’s really hunger or mindless snacking.
When I’m craving take out, I will remind myself the last time I had Taco Bell wasn’t how I wanted to enjoy my cheat. The thought of eating a beef chalupa supreme and two double decker supremes was more exciting then actually eating it. After I was done, I felt sluggish and bloated. That was not fun.
Intermittent fasting- During my 16 hours of fasting, I will do things to keep busy. I will do laundry, paint my nails, or set up a really nice area in my home and just sit there and read a good book.
When temptations gets so bad, I will write down what I really want out of this. I want to buy new clothes and feel good wearing them. I want to have more energy. I want to be the person I once was when I first got with my husband.
I will write down my grocery list before heading to the market. I will only put food in my buggy that’s on my list.
I would love to know your way of staying on track. What helps you?
