SmilingPea — THE MAC'S ARE HERE

It’s been several years that my husband and I have been trying for a baby. It gets draining, frustrating, and emotionally exhausting. The two week wait after ovulation 12 times a year, equals 12 heartbreaks a year since it’s pretty obvious I have been getting a big fat negatives when I take the test. The positive side to all this, not once has my husband disregarded my feelings. He lets me take as long as I want when I needed to heal.

For those of you who have not gone through this, I am happy for you. All those sleepless nights because your baby has been crying all night. The embarrassment you had to go through while your kid was throwing a temper tantrum. All the things your child has done wrong in your eyes. Feel blessed. Many of us kill for those days.

For those of you who are going through this, I know how you feel. I’m not going to say, don’t worry, it will happen. Don’t stress about it. Or how about this one, when my husband and I stopped trying, it happened! I’m not going to say those things because I know we all fucken hate it. But I am going to tell you is that you are fucken amazing and give you a big hug so we can both cry together.

My husband and I decided to keep busy by creating a baby line called Smiling Pea. It didn’t take us long to come up with a name. Our baby girl Peanut motivated us and she makes us happy all the time. So we named our business after her.

This process took us several months, it might even have been a year since we started this. We worked at this from the bottom up. From paying all the business fees with the city and the state to choosing our designs. We even negotiated with a couple of suppliers so we can get the most profit. Going back and forth with our suppliers to make our first product perfect took months. We knew we wanted to create something that we would use on our baby so we made sure our suppliers use 100% organic cotton on the front and a non slip terry cloth for the back. If we didn’t approve, they made the change and we really felt like business owners. People working for us. This little project that kept us busy just so we didn’t have to think about our fertility issues became a business that will bring us success in the future. Right now our product is selling on Amazon which went live today! So if you know anyone who is having a baby, I really do hope you can help and support our business.
