Amazon F*cked Up
I’m not going to sugarcoat anything on this blog. But first I want to say I do love, but hate Amazon at the same time. I love buying on Amazon. I love how easy I can return my items and how fast my refund will hit my bank. But the laziness and the carelessness of some employees blow my fucking mind!
My husband and I started building our brand from the ground up. It first started as something to keep busy and something we can do together, but we realize how much profit people are making by becoming an Amazon’s FBA. It’s not cheap to start and I can say that my husband and I invested about 13k to start. Plus we’re paying for marketing each day.
In less than 24 hours from being live on the Amazon website, we have been getting hits after hits from people who are buying our product. However, we noticed people are complaining. To our surprise we had to do our own investigation on what is happening. We made sure our product was made from the top quality organic fabrics. We tested the item ourselves. This took a whole year until we finally perfected it. We have 1000 units in the amazon warehouse in Texas, but we also have units stored in our office for damage control. It’s hard not being hands on with your own business so we have to trust Amazon will do the right thing.
So we thought…
While we were investigating, I reached out to a friend who had bought my product. She took pictures of our product and sent them to me. We figured out why we were getting a number of complaints. Since we have two products on Amazon, we had given them our SKU numbers (barcodes). The SKU numbers does have a description under it, saying “Smiling Pea - 5 pack baby burp cloths - Girl” and “Smiling Pea - 5 pack baby burp cloth - Boy.” The amazon employee didn’t care to even do the job right, the person put the “Girl” barcodes on the boy products and the “Boy” barcodes on the girl products so EVERYONE got the wrong item. So when we figured this out, my husband put both of our products as inactive until this shit gets fixed!
Amazon even listed the correct product as “BOY” and “GIRL” on their website.
Amazon quoted 90 days to have this fixed, which is incredibly disappointing. According to other FBA reviews, this isn’t something new. My husband and I are blessed that we still work at our place of employment, but for people who are doing this for a living, they would be so screwed!
I even seen amazon job postings on Craigslist. No interview required. Just come in and pick your hours. WTF? AMAZON… YOU NEED TO INTERVIEW THESE PEOPLE TO PREVENT SHIT LIKE THIS FROM HAPPENING!!
So sorry to everyone who received the wrong product. I contacted all of you who bought our product and we will be shipping out your items first thing Tuesday morning since right now we are at an Amazon FBA conference in Vegas. I also appreciate those who left good reviews for us because we really needed those!
Thank God for our reserves. We knew something like this would happen. Amazon, get your shit together!
I need this book in my life right now. Instead of having a fun time with my husband in Vegas for a conference, we’re doing damage control.
