I’m going to fill you in on the nitty gritty of the third trimester. The things no one would ever tell you. You will find out once you experience the third grueling trimester. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being pregnant. I love feeling my sweet little girl move. However, there are things I would love to know beforehand so I can be more prepared.
First there is the carpel tunnel syndrome. I got it so bad. So bad that I can’t even pick up my poor little pup! I also have “Thank You” cards just sitting here. I can’t even hold a pen and write. If I tried, my penmanship will not be legible. So my apologies to everyone who had blessed us with something special for baby K. We have been wanting to send our thank you cards, but my hands are just killing me right now.
Heartburn is just the worse! My heartburn is so bad that I end up throwing up bile. It ends up making my throat hurt. My doctor told me tums is ok for the baby, but I feel like I’m just popping them in my mouth as if it’s like candy. I don’t even have to be eating anything to get heartburn, just the thought of food triggers my heartburn.
PUPPP! I don’t even know how to spell these words, so those who are interested knowing, just type up PUPPP pregnancy on the google search tab. I would just call this itchy belly! I’m not even suppose to be scratching my belly, but when I do, OMG boy does it feel so good!
Leg cramps are also the worse! Even a little stretch in the morning can cause 20 minutes of intense leg cramps. Massaging or walking around doesn’t help. It seems like it gets worse. Right when I feel my legs start to tense up, I jump out of bed like a ninja right before the cramps trigger and it usually goes away.
HUNGRY! I swear I’m more hungry during my 3rd trimester than my first and second. My husband and I always buys a weeks worth of food. Every Sunday we would do our grocery shopping, but lately I’ve been eating everything by Wednesday! I wish I knew this before so I can plan ahead and make more healthy meals, rather than zapping things in the microwave.
There are more things that happen during the 3rd trimester, but I guess I can say I’m lucky enough to not have gotten those things. The five things I do have are so bad though. I probably would trade my heartburn for some hemorrhoids. Maybe I would also trade my PUPPP for swollen feet. I haven’t gotten the hemorrhoids or swollen feet, but it doesn’t sound as bad as the itchy belly and heartburn.
I have about 2 more weeks to go until my baby girl gets here. When I do experience these symptoms, I do remind myself that the prize is at the end and this is only temporary. I’m beyond excited and thrilled for her arrival. Our family will finally be complete and I’ve honestly never thought this would happened for us. So when I do feel another heartburn coming along, I will just think of the mounds of hair my daughter will have when she’s born. She will have thick her like her Mama!
